Electrical Parts Shortages Occurring in Texas and Florida after Harvey and Irma

There are many electrical components shortages in Texas and Florida after Harvey and Irma according to a recent article appearing in Forbes Magazine. According to the article, the Institute for Supply Management ( ISM ) analyzed the future supply chain impacts from Hurricane Harvey using a survey distributed to Manufacturing and Non-Manufacturing Business Survey Committees and found that 67% of supply managers who responded thought input materials pricing would be negatively impacted to some degree over the next three months. Electrical component supplies and pricing will be impacted as well.

The article, which appeared in the September issue of Forbes, mentioned that machinery, transportation, equipment manufacturing, scientific and technical services and computer and electronic products were among the 36 industries that reported they would likely experience the greatest shortages in the coming months.
